Missy Higgins has just released the visual behind her first single in 5 years, “Unashamed Desire.” 

In what is quite a different direction from the stuff I’m used to seeing from her, it’s incredibly refreshing. The music has many more instrumental layers, and while the lyrics are what I’m used to, which are genuine and honest, she has strayed from the singer/songwriter vibe from her last two albums.

I’m very excited for her new album, and this video has provided a much different tone. Give it a look over above.

Robyn’s Calling Your Girlfriend

Well - Robyn came out with a new video for her current single, “Call Your Girlfriend” and needless to say, it’s absolutely fantastic. Check this video out.

What Robyn does with music is something I hold in very high respects - she makes pure pop music, but she puts lyrical honesty and soul into these incredible dance beats. That’s not something we are seeing very much in pop music, but people like her and Gaga are doing that; they are pushing the limit of what pop can be. I’m always excited for what Robyn puts out, and this, along with all of her videos, surpasses my expectations.

P!nk’s “F*cking Perfect”

One of my favorite women in music never ceases to ruffle feathers or send a message. The latest single from P!nk’s newest CD, “Greatest Hits…So Far!!” just got the video treatment. 

With the recent teen suicides coming into the media light, P!nk’s powerful (and at times difficult to watch) video paints an all to real picture of issues that people go through every day. 

I’ve always been amazed and her vocals, lyrics, and her all around attitude. She is a breath of fresh air, and this video is beautiful in the most difficult way.
